The Whiskey and Whores Saloon is the Headquarters for Asylum. The name says it all. Get your whiskey. Join the whores. Dance on the bar. Be entertained. Be entertaining
Physical Description
The whiskey and whores saloon itself is a medium sized shade structure, approximately 20 feet by 30 feet. Outside, facing the Asylum Courtyard, is covered in the facade of an old style western saloon with a prominent sign. Inside of the saloon there is an 8 ft. bar with a bar back, some wooden tables and chairs and a small stage (8X8ft) with a piano. The small stage has a small speaker to amplify a singer singing at the piano. The bar top is reinforced for dancing. The saloon is lit inside with a combination of colored bulbs and christmas lights. Outside is a hitching post.

Little House on the Playa - a 8 ft x 10 ft shack for the Asylum Minister of infrastructure.
The Official Mayors residence.
An 18 ft Dome
Tents for approximately 20 campers.

The electricity for the Whiskey and Whores Saloon is coming off the the Asylum Village-wide generator, located in Camp Power Exchange.
The campers at the Whiskey and Whores Saloon are experienced burners familiar with the tenets of Leave No Trace and we expect to appoint a Leave No Trace officer in the coming weeks.
Interactivity Description
The Whiskey and Whore's Saloon is interactive on many levels.
It's primary mission is to oversee the running of Asylum. To help the camps of Asylum get settled, to oversee the visual impact of the village and construct the village-wide infrastructure.
Past that, it is a kick ass bar, serving whiskey shots with a yell.
We will be offering impromptu sing alongs to improvised songs. There will be dancing on the bar. The piano and microphone will be available for performances both musical and spoken word. In other words, for a redneck bar it's going to be the hippest little speakeasy on the playa. Not only that, there is a pot of coffee on in the morning (well, whenever the camp wakes up).
Asylum has been mostly event driven. Hosting all sorts of interesting and important events. We will continue this tradition. In addition to all of the daily fun and excitement we will also be hosting the Eastside Party, the party for burners from east of the Mississippi. It is also the home of Deep Huddle, comic improv on the playa.
Playa-wide during the week, once most of the administrative duties are fulfilled, members of Asylum, taking a cue from the current president, will embark on an imperialist campaign to bring others into the Asylum fold by planting the Asylum flag in other interesting themecamps and projects and claiming them for Asylum.
Personally, I started out amazed at what people were able to do on the playa, all of the elaborate structures and fantastic projects they presented to the community. Now, I am finding that I am that guy. It still surprises me sometimes.
